Never Ever

Here's a book I was working on that I am very pleased with. The assignment was to take a short story or poem and design a book with imagery and text. I chose A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings by Gabriel Marquez. I really missed drawing and illustration so I took it upon myself to create all the imagery by hand for this piece. The whole book consists of 11 spreads, but these are the ones I like most. I'm really disappointed in myself for not keeping up with my illustration work. I always feel like I have the potential, but I could never find the time to improve. Whenever I see really good work I tend to get a little too jealous. But I'm not the kind of guy to dwell on it. I just need to decrease my sleeping time to 3 hours a night, and get cracking!

That's what she said...

After a long semester, I finally have something to show for it. And these are quite MASSIVE in size...

Here are some detail shots:

I think Screenprinting was one of my favorite classes this semester. Its the culmination of illustration, art, dirt, rotten egg stench, and graphic design. I think if I continue doing silkscreening I might actually stumble upon some great work! If anyone wants to join, feel free to give me a ring!

For Starters

Scans never do justice to the originals.

Quickie

Due to the lack of posts this semester, I've compensated by uploading a giant piece I finished Monday night in silkscreening. Its approximately 5 1/2 feet tall and 3 1/2 feet wide, so imagine the grandeur.

More to come as the school ends...
